Mission Statement
  • to offer the Westcheter Jewish community a religious and cultural congregation for the sharing and exchange of Jewish ideas, ideals and experience.

  • To contribute to Jewish thought in a spirit of openness to tradition, and responsiveness to our perceptions of the modern world.

  • To provide a forum which will give direction to our evolving religious Jewish civilization.

  • To conduct Shabbat and Festival services, as well as Jewish educational and cultural activities, in a participatory community spirit.

  • To seek emotional, intellectual and spiritual satisfaction in Jewish life and tradition.
Any precise definition of our approach would be inadequate, since it would tend to freeze what is fundamentally an open ended and dynmaic perception of Judaism in its religious, cultural and civilizational expressions.
